Clearly those Companies (Operators/Broadcasters) who have Contracts with Content Owners cannot justify the use of Widgets and Applications that will interfere or detract from the transmitted content…What a conundrum then in the DTT world of Open Internet Connected Devices…

However there have never been European iDTVs for Pay TV Operators since each Operator wants to impose their look and feel (GUI) (Own the Screen) and the CE Manufacturers said NO…Plus each Operator having dissimilar interactive middleware there is/was no economy of scale for the TV Manufacturer…So nothing has changed there then, not since I have been in this business in over 12 years…!
